Our Wild Alaska Fisheries

Bristol Bay, Alaska
Vast and thriving, Bristol Bay is home to thousands of fishermen, six major river systems and millions of wild salmon. This sprawling watershed, with its winding streams, wetlands, tundra, and forests, is a vital habitat for fish, birds, and animals.
Over the past 130 years, it has also become home to the world’s largest commercial wild salmon fishery. Each summer, an average of 38 million wild salmon return from the ocean to complete their life cycle. This region produces half of the world’s wild sockeye, a superfood rich in omega-3s, vitamins, and antioxidants.
The people of Bristol Bay have advocated for this fishery and upheld its responsible fishing practices for generations in order to ensure wild sockeye thrive and Bristol Bay stays wild, forever!

Copper River, Alaska
The Copper River is the birthplace of three wild Alaskan salmon species. Every year from May through September, King, Sockeye and Coho return to the Copper River to make the arduous 300-mile migration up the turbulent waters in order to spawn.
Because the Copper River is so long and steep, gaining an average elevation of 12 feet per mile, these fish must pack on sufficient fat reserves to fuel their epic journey—resulting in salmon that is rich in heart- healthy omega-3 fatty acids and flavorful oils.
Here, a community of 560 fishermen are committed to preserving and conserving the rich Copper River heritage for many generations to come, and to providing you with only the best quality and flavor salmon.
